Slow down to go fast

Do you know how the Grand Canyon was created? It came to be because small amounts of water ran through the area repeatedly over the course of hundreds of millions of years. It’s truly a wonder of the world. But how would you have felt if you had to sit there and be witness to it’s creation, watching the water run through it for what seemed like (and practically is) eternity? It wouldn’t have been very GRAND would it?

My point is that amazing things happen with consistency over time. Most people give up on a goal, whether in weight loss, business, and even pursuing their own happiness, before they’ve given themselves long enough to be successful. In fact, research shows that only 1 in 20 people who sets some type of goal will actually achieve that goal. That’s sad. People give up before they’ve even given themselves a chance.

I want you to think about what it takes to lose weight. Is it one good workout or one clean meal? Nope. It’s the accumulation of the choices you make all day every day. That’s it. It’s not very exciting, but it’s true. My programs at Nicole Spencer Coaching provide the guidelines, tools, and structure to help people reach their goals, but ultimately, the right choices must be made consistently over time to get to where we want to be.

Most people exercise and eat for less than 10 TOTAL hours per week. That leaves you with 158 hours per week to make good choices…and that’s where people get in trouble. Whether you choose to exercise or not, whether you eat a healthy dinner or not, whether you go to bed on time or not, whether you drink enough water or not…all of these pieces add up to bring you closer to your goals or further away from your goals. You MUST remember that you have the power to choose all day every day. Own it. Embrace it. And make the right choices.

Making small choices each day is slowing down to go fast. Ultimately, these little pieces of the puzzle fit together over time to take you to where you want to be. Don’t rush the process and don’t expect magic. Choose wisely and lean on us for support always, but especially when making the right choice seems impossible.

Make it a great week!
